The request of pro-Palestinian groups in England to end the Zionist occupation – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, quoted by BBC, the British Labor Party led by Keir Starmer promised in his election campaign to take serious steps to end the Gaza war if he comes to power. However, the victory of this party did not change the protectionist policy of London against the Zionist regime in the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Based on this, after the announcement of the agreement between the Hamas movement and the Zionist regime, several Palestinian activist groups in England reacted to this issue and demanded an end to the occupation of Palestinian lands.
Sarah Hosseini, director of the British Palestinian Committee, said in a statement: “15 months have passed since relentless attacks, killings and famine in Gaza; A condition whose main purpose has been to advance Israel’s expansionist policies. “Now, ending this situation and establishing peace depends on the end of the occupation and the international effort to find a just solution.”
Karim Ali, one of the founders of the cycling team for the disabled in Gaza, also pointed to the extensive destruction caused by the war and said: “The real challenge begins now. “Thousands of people have lost their body parts in this war and need medical and psychological support.”
Also, Bassem Farajullah, a member of the “Gaza Community in England”, criticized the London government’s policies towards the Palestinians and said: “The British government should present a plan similar to the support programs for Ukrainian refugees so that Palestinian families in England can join their loved ones in Gaza.” »
Stating that he lost 40 members of his family in the war, he added: “My daughter asked me in Gaza: Why doesn’t your country help us?” Why doesn’t England support us?”
Hossam Zamlat, the ambassador of the Palestinian Authority in London, says that the ceasefire agreement is the first step to reduce the suffering of the people of this country.
He emphasized: “If there is to be a lasting peace, the international community must end the occupation of Israel and work for the formation of an independent Palestinian state.” The reconstruction of Gaza must begin immediately and under the supervision of international institutions, and the rights of Palestinians must be guaranteed in all the occupied territories.
