Blinken: We are close to a ceasefire in Gaza
The US Secretary of State said in a joint press conference with his French counterpart that a ceasefire agreement in Gaza is close.
According to RCO News Agency, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who is in France to discuss developments in Syria and the possibility of lifting the sanctions imposed on Damascus, held a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrow.
At the beginning of his press conference, Blinken thanked French President Emmanuel Macron and his government’s foreign minister for the constructive relationship between France and the United States in the last 4 years (Joe Biden’s administration).
According to the US Secretary of State, his trip to France will be his last foreign trip as US Secretary of State.
“Today’s world is more competitive and difficult than ever,” said Blinken. But both countries (America and France) have a common will to deal with these crises and challenges.”
The US Secretary of State’s acknowledgment of the current crises in today’s world, while the current US President Joe Biden and his government are the cause of the formation and deepening of many current crises in the world, including the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the continuation of the regime’s crimes Zionism in the region and war in Ukraine.
Nevertheless, Blinken claimed: “We seek to build a better world for the people of our country, France and the world community.”
In justifying the “achievements resulting from the constructive relations between Washington and Paris”, he pointed to the ceasefire in Lebanon, and despite the warning of the United Nations and other international organizations about the frequent and clear violation of this ceasefire by the Zionist regime, Blinken claimed: “With the cooperation of Washington and Paris “We managed to establish a ceasefire in Lebanon, which remains in place and can create a better future for Beirut and its relations with Israel.”
Blinken claimed again: “The ceasefire monitoring structure in Lebanon has been successful. Although challenges remain, so far, this structure has remained intact. “Ceasefire can lead to peace.”
He pointedly claimed: “In Syria too, after the fall of the Assad family’s rule for five decades, the Syrian people now have an opportunity to build a future that is not dominated by a dictator, a foreign power or a terrorist group.”
Blinken’s artificial concern about the Syrian people is that the east of this country and the oil fields of Syria and the income from it are still under American occupation and Washington has still maintained its sanctions against Syria.
On the other hand, Blinken’s expression of hope for building a “better future” for Syria, while the west of Syria is still under the occupation of the Zionist regime, and Israel has always continued its airstrikes against the whole of Syria, and many countries are worried about Syria becoming a terrorist hub in the region. are
He also claims that the citizens of Syria are not under the control of a “terrorist group” whose Tahrir al-Sham editorial board and “Mohammed al-Jolani”, the leader of this group, are affiliated with al-Qaeda and until the fall of the American government of “Bashar al-Assad” for al-Jolani’s position as the leader. A terrorist group had set a reward of 10 million dollars.
Training of 15 thousand Ukrainian soldiers by America and France
Blinken went on to discuss the developments in Ukraine and claimed the successful cooperation of France and the United States to defend Ukraine and said: “The United States and France were able to train more than 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers.” In the coming months, French leadership will be necessary to position Ukraine in its strongest possible position on the battlefield or at the negotiating table.”
He added: “The security of Europe and the world are intertwined.”
Blinken claimed: “The support of China and North Korea has caused Russia’s aggression against Ukraine to continue. The impact of foreign actors on Maidan war has made the impact of this war on the world clear.
He added: “The cooperation between America and France has achieved many things that have affected the lives of the citizens of the two countries.”
Blinken stated: “I believe that in the coming years, the cooperation between Washington and France will deepen because many problems in the world require cooperation.”
The impossibility of Trump’s idea about Greenland
In response to a question about US President-elect Donald Trump’s recent remarks against Greenland and Trump-related billionaire Elon Musk’s support for the extreme right in the international community, he said: “In the last four years, we have shown that by working closely with our allies, We will be stronger. “The proposed idea about Greenland is not a good idea and will not be implemented.”
Blinken added: “Cooperation and unity are needed to solve the world’s problems. America’s conditions will be much better if it cooperates with its allies.”
The US Secretary of State added: “The world will not wait for the transfer of government in America.”
The nearness of the ceasefire in Gaza
Blinken added: “Many changes are happening. In the Middle East, we are close to a ceasefire, problems remain but much progress has been made. This agreement is based on the President’s (Biden) proposal in May.”
He clarified: “If we do not manage to reach a ceasefire before the Trump administration takes office, all the gains will be transferred to the next administration.”
Blinken claimed: “Many measures have been taken to normalize relations between Riyadh and Tel Aviv.”
He also claimed the defeat of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Ukraine and said: “He has repeatedly failed strategically and the future government can negotiate with a strong approach.”
“We are offering very positive terms to the next government,” Blinken claimed.
He left reporters’ questions about Elon Musk’s statements unanswered and simply said: “He has the right to express his opinions freely, just like other American citizens.”
In response to another question, the US Secretary of State said: “We did not spare any effort to provide strong conditions to Ukraine.” Ukraine can negotiate from a position of power in 2025. “If talks between Moscow and Kiev start, the next US administration should seek the best deal, that is, real deterrence against Russia.”
He claimed: “Putin will not give up his ambitions. Any agreement should prevent Russia from attacking Ukraine again. This problem can take different forms. “Providing a security guarantee from Europe can be one of the possible methods.”
In response to a question about the possibility of ISIS spreading in Syria, Blinken said: “Preventing the spread of ISIS in Syria is very important. The terrorist attack in Louisiana shows the power of ISIS, but the worrying issue is the efforts of 10,000 imprisoned ISIS fighters in Syria.
He said: “This issue is a common concern of America and France and our Kurdish friends in Syria.” ISIS was defeated in Trump’s first administration, the next American administration will prevent the spread of ISIS, similar to the current administration. We must support the Syrian Democratic Forces to fight terrorism.”
Blinken added: “On the other hand, due to Türkiye’s concern about terrorists in Syria, including the PKK, we are cooperating closely with Ankara.” The foreign forces present in Syria should leave this country and not join the Syrian armed forces. We will prevent a war in Syria and we are sure that the next American administration will do the same.”
