Sullivan: I discussed Iran’s nuclear program with Trump’s team
The National Security Adviser of the United States said that he had discussions with Donald Trump’s team about Iran’s nuclear issue.
According to RCO News Agency, American National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that he had a discussion with President-elect Donald Trump’s team about Iran’s nuclear program.
Claiming that Iran is in a weak position, he said that now there is an opportunity that he hopes Trump will use to reach an agreement, an agreement that will limit Iran’s alleged “nuclear ambitions”.
Sullivan also made the claim that the axis of resistance has been weakened and claimed that currents in Iran are seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
Saying that he had talked with representatives of the Zionist regime about Iran’s nuclear program, Sullivan said that he had informed the Trump team about these details.
He also said that Russia is trying to maintain its bases in the western regions of Syria and the eastern Mediterranean Sea and claimed that Moscow could not prevent the fall of the Syrian government due to the conflict in the Ukraine war.
The American National Security Adviser said that Washington’s biggest concern in Syria is the possibility of ISIS taking advantage of the lack of authority in some areas of the country.
The American official described the Syrian Kurds as the best partners of the United States in the fight against ISIS, and said that Washington is worried that if Turkey enters into a conflict with the Kurds, their ability to fight against the growth of ISIS will decrease.
Saying that the Syrian Kurds are responsible for controlling the ISIS prisoners, Sullivan said that the release of these people is a significant threat and that is why the United States will continue to support the “Syrian Democratic Forces” known as the “QSD”.
The US national security adviser also stated that he advised the incoming administration of US President-elect Donald Trump to continue to be present in Syria and try to fight the growth of ISIS.
