The Prime Minister of Spain called for the recognition of Palestine – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by the Palestinian “Wafa” news agency, Pedro Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez, on Saturday, once again asked the countries of the world to recognize Palestine as an independent country.
He said these words at the meeting of the “International Socialism” conference held in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.
Sanchez emphasized: Israel’s occupation must be ended and allowed the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the framework of the two-state solution.
He also emphasized the need to end the blockade and humanitarian problems of Palestinians and called for international cooperation to deal with the crisis.
Last May, Spain officially recognized the state of Palestine and considered this action to be in line with the UN resolutions and a step to achieve peace.
Currently, 144 UN member states have recognized Palestine as an independent state, and Palestine has embassies and representatives in 95 countries.
This action of Spain and some European countries such as Ireland and Norway has angered the Israeli authorities.
