German arms exports to Ukraine reached 8.4 billion dollars
The amount of arms that the German government has sent to Ukraine in 2024 reached 8.4 billion dollars, which has almost doubled compared to the previous year.
According to Isna, Germany’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action announced today (Thursday) that the country’s arms exports to Ukraine between January 1 and December 17, 2024 reached 8.13 billion euros ($8.4 billion), which is almost twice the year. It is 2023.
In addition to Ukraine, the three largest importers of German arms in 2024 include Singapore with more than 1.21 billion euros and Algeria with 558.7 million euros.
According to Sputnik, last year Germany approved the export of arms to Ukraine worth more than 4.43 billion euros. At the same time, its arms supply to Israel was cut in half: From 326.5 million euros in 2023 to 161 million euros this year.
Western countries and the United States have increased their military and financial support for Ukraine against Russia, while Moscow has repeatedly said that sending weapons to Ukraine will hinder the process of resolving the conflict and make NATO countries one of the parties to the conflict.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would be a legitimate Russian target.
