A number of tourists from Yazd have shared their opinions and experiences with Google users after visiting Lariha’s house.
The House of Lorries is a unique attraction in Yazd city, which dates back to the Qajar period and is considered one of Iran’s registered works in the national heritage list. This complex, which consists of 6 separate houses, was built by Ibrahim Khan Lari. In the past, this building was used as a Nematollahi dervish monastery, and today, it is used as a museum. The historical ventilator, wooden doors and sashes, mirrored rooms and paintings are among the characteristics of the Lari house. Today, many foreign tourists visit Lari’s house and share their experiences with Google users.
1. Hakan Uysal from Turkey
A really beautiful house! But many rooms have become offices, it is not clear whether it is a museum or a government office! The area open to visitors is very limited.
2. Bertram Kloss from Switzerland
If you have seen the traditional houses of Kashan, this house is not worth visiting. Much smaller and less impressive. To make matters worse, the crowds of people who visit diminish the experience even further.
3. Gerard Roca from Spain
An ordinary house in Yazd. Like other old houses in the city, they also have a courtyard surrounded by rooms; But they are really more beautiful. If you have extra time, visit it.
4. Daniel Gutiérrez from Spain
The poor state of conservation in which it is seen is shameful. No information in English or willingness to show anything about the space from the staff working there. Shameful!
5. Christoph Große (Christoph Große) from Germany
A small alley in the north of Ziyai Square leads to the house of Lari; Beautifully renovated 19th century townhouse. Its owner was “Haj Mohammad Lari”, a businessman from the city of Lar in Fars province, who had settled in Yazd with his family to do his wholesale business from here. This house with fortress-like outer walls, residential buildings around a green courtyard with a water pond, terraces and a tall windbreak is a clear example of people’s life in the desert climate of Yazd. In this former trading house, you can also see a front room right at the entrance where small business and transactions were done to protect the women who were naked in the house.
