Russia deploys Orsnik missiles in Belarus
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Friday that Moscow will deploy some of its hypersonic missile systems in Belarus.
According to RCO News Agency, in his speech during the meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko, Putin said that some of the hypersonic missile systems of Orshanik will be deployed in Belarus after they are ready.
He stated: “These systems will be delivered to the strategic missile forces of Russia and will be deployed on the territory of Belarus at the same time.”
Lukashenko, while requesting to receive Orshnik missile systems, emphasized that Russia had previously provided nuclear weapons to Belarus and provided its nuclear umbrella to its ally.
The President of Belarus emphasized that the country has the ability to deploy these weapons, and the only condition for this is that the goals of using these systems are determined by the military-political leadership of Belarus and Russian experts support the deployment of these weapons in Belarus.
While expressing his agreement in this regard, Putin stated that these missile systems can be deployed in Belarus in the second half of 2025.
