The holy shrine of Imamzadeh Prince Hossein (AS) in Qazvin, in addition to being a historical and spectacular place, is also the tomb of one of the children of Imam Reza (AS) and a unique manifestation of Iranian Islamic art.
The holy shrine of Prince Hossein Imamzadeh (AS) is one of the important pilgrimage and historical places and one of the oldest sights of Qazvin city, which has always hosted pilgrims and enthusiasts. This holy place, which is considered to be the tomb of one of the immediate descendants of Imam Reza (AS), has a great value in the religious and historical culture of Iran, and due to its historical and architectural importance, it was also registered in the list of national monuments of Iran. According to historical sources, Imamzadeh Prince Hossein (a.s.) died in Qazvin on the way of Imam Reza (a.s.) to Khorasan and was buried in the same city.
The mausoleum building of this imamzadeh, which was renovated and developed during the Safavid era, displays an amazing effect of Iranian Islamic art in terms of architecture and decorations. A dome with beautiful tilings and inscriptions with good calligraphy, especially the third script, is one of the prominent features of this building. Also, the silver shrine and the eye-catching mirror work in the interior of the tomb, in addition to the visual beauty, instill a pleasant sense of calm to the pilgrims.
In addition to the religious aspect, this place also has an important place in the social history of Qazvin city. Many elders and religious and scientific figures are buried around this tomb, which shows its importance throughout history. From this point of view, the holy threshold of Imamzadeh of Prince Hossein (AS) is not only a place for prayer, but also a space for communication with the history and religious culture of this land.
