According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by BBC World, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer believes that London should not choose a side between closer relations with the United States under the presidency of Donald Trump and its European partners.

Starmer has also said that his government will “never turn away” from its partnership with the US and has always been committed to stronger ties with Europe.

According to him, the world is facing a “dangerous period and stability is necessary for growth, and the UK should support Ukraine against Russia.”

Starmer’s statements have been made while long before Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election, there were many speculations about his possible decision to enter an economic war against Europe and reduce support for Ukraine and even NATO.

In such a situation, analysts believe that England should choose a side to take sides. Stephen Moore, a close Trump ally, said last month that Britain had to choose between the United States and London’s “special relationship and closer relationship with the European Union,” which Trump called Little China.
