He stated that the goals of the Ministry of Health in the 7th Development Plan is to reach the 14th place in the world and the first place in the region in the production of science, he added: to achieve this goal, the research infrastructure must be rebuilt, the access of academic staff members to electronic resources should be facilitated, to Human forces should be given special attention and medical sciences universities should be transformed from the third generation to the fourth generation universities so that they can create wealth from technology.

Referring to the problems of reducing research credits in the country, the vice president of research and technology of the Ministry of Health reminded: the share of research and technology in the national gross production has decreased and this can jeopardize the competitiveness of the country with the countries of the region; Therefore, we will try to increase research budgets with the cooperation of the parliament

Emphasizing the high research and technological potential of Golestan University of Medical Sciences, he said: Considering the environmental problems and many natural and unnatural events in this province, the need for more research is felt to reduce these problems.

At the end, Akhundzadeh emphasized the importance of transforming Golestan University of Medical Sciences into a regional research hub and said: “Given the existing potentials, this university can play an important role in the development of research and technology in the country.”
