Burrell: The threat of the Hague Tribunal by American senators is unacceptable
In response to the threats of some American senators against the International Criminal Court, the head of the European Union’s foreign policy said, “The ruling of the Hague Court is binding and must be implemented.”
According to RCO News Agency, following the issuance of the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former war minister Yoav Gallant by the International Criminal Court (The Hague), there have been many reactions. Many countries, including European Union member countries, declared their support and compliance with this ruling, on the other hand, the United States, American officials and senators, as staunch supporters of the Zionist regime, threatened the Hague Court.
In this regard, “Joseph Burrell”, the EU foreign policy official, announced on Saturday evening on his user account on the “X” social network: “Standing for peace and justice requires courage, respect and support.” At the same time, we are at a critical point with the reactions to the judgment of the Hague Tribunal.
Burrell clarified: “The detention order of the Hague Court is legal and not political in nature. It has nothing to do with anti-Semitism. Since its formation, the European Union has always supported the International Criminal Court and its decisions. The decisions of this court are legally binding and we have no choice. “The threats made against this organization are unacceptable, like the threats of American senators.”
He added: “The European Union cannot claim to support the law, human rights and multilateral structure without implementing the judgment and orders of the International Criminal Court. We cannot afford not to react when UN leaders and staff are attacked. “UNRWA and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs are doing irreplaceable measures.”
The European Union’s foreign policy official also wrote: “Gaza has become a hell on earth and still not all of its images have been released.” International media are prevented from entering it. Information control and destruction of information poisons the public mind from the opposite side and dehumanizes it. The hate algorithm is much more useful than the peace algorithm.
In the end, he stated: “The cost of not having peace is too high. Passivity is also a kind of choice. We must act based on five principles; Support peace. Let’s deal with abusers on both sides. Stick to reality. To protect the United Nations and international laws. Let’s fully use the pressure lever of the European Union.”
Last Thursday, the International Criminal Court ordered the arrest of the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime and the former Minister of War of this regime on charges of committing war crimes, crimes against humanity and using hunger (starving the people of Gaza) as a weapon.
This is the first time that the Hague Court issues an arrest warrant for a Zionist official.
The Prime Minister of the occupying regime said on Thursday night in response to the verdict of the International Criminal Court against him and Yoav Galant, the former war minister of this regime: “No anti-Israeli decision will stop me from continuing to defend ourselves and we will not give in to pressure.”
Netanyahu claimed: “The court’s decision is a moral failure and harms those who have the right to defend themselves.”
The Prime Minister of the occupying regime added: “Israel will not recognize the decision of the International Criminal Court.”
He also claimed: “The court that raises false accusations against us ignores the real war crimes against us and others in the world.”
The Prime Minister of the Zionist regime continued: “The International Criminal Court has become a tool for political disputes.”
“The International Criminal Court has found convincing evidence that Netanyahu, born on October 21, 1949, and Gallant, born on November 8, 1958, are jointly responsible for crimes committed jointly,” the Hague Tribunal’s statement said. Among these crimes, we can mention the use of famine as a method of war, crimes against humanity, murder, harassment and inhumane actions.
This ruling means that the 124 member countries of the International Criminal Court are obliged to arrest Netanyahu and Gallant if they enter these countries.
