The arrest of a CIA employee on charges of leaking confidential information related to Iran
Media sources reported the arrest of an American government employee on charges of leaking confidential information about the Zionist regime’s attack on Iran.
According to RCO News Agency, the United States Federal Investigation Department (FBI) has arrested a man on the charge of disclosing highly confidential information about the Zionist regime’s operations, based on court documents and a person familiar with the case.
According to the court documents, “Asif W. Rahman” was accused last Thursday of keeping and intentionally leaking national defense information.
He was arrested in Cambodia on Tuesday and will first appear in court in Guam, although the department has asked a federal judge to extradite him to Virginia for trial.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Rahman was recruited by the CIA. Court documents also show that he was employed by the US government.
Before the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran on October 26, the American media reported the leak of 2 confidential American intelligence documents about the military movements of the Zionist regime.
The 2 documents were first released on Friday via a Telegram channel, with reports suggesting that a source in the US intelligence community and the US Department of Defense disclosed it. According to these documents, the Zionist regime was moving its military equipment to carry out a military attack in response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on October 1.
At the time, the Axios News site reported that the group or media outlet that disclosed the information “doesn’t matter” to US officials, but their main concern is “how this classified information was leaked.”
An American official, whose identity was not disclosed, told this site that “under any circumstances, the release of this classified information is worrisome.” This development could indicate a massive information leak in America’s most secretive intelligence structure.”
At the beginning of this month, the American newspaper “Washington Post” reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has started an investigation into the unauthorized release of top-secret documents about the reaction of the Zionist regime to Iran’s recent missile attack on the occupied territories.
According to the American media, the sharing of these top-secret documents has been allowed only among the five countries known as the “Five Eyes”, i.e. the United States, England, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
