According to Mehr news agency, citing Anatolia news agency, the US State Department announced in a statement on Saturday: US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone consultation with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

According to the statement issued by the US State Department, Guterres and Blinken discussed the security situation in Haiti and Somalia.

Claiming the achievements of the Multinational Security Assistance Mission (MSS) in Haiti, the US Secretary of State stressed the importance of considering the request of the country’s government to transform the said mission into a UN peacekeeping operation that provides sustainable security support to The Haitian people have emphasized.
