According to the announcement of the Iran Science Promotion Association; The ceremony of the 25th science promotion award will be held on Thursday, November 24.
This year’s science promotion award in 8 sections: “Media”, “Creative and innovative methods”, “Environment (honoring Henrik Majnounian)”, “Teachers from underprivileged areas (honoring Mohammad Bahmanbeigi)”, “Activist in the field of science and society (honoring Mohammad Amin) Qaneirad), “Children’s literature (commemoration of Turan Mirhadi)”, “Scientific associations and institutions” and “Sustainable effort” are awarded.
The subject of “generalization of science”, “promotion of science” and “science communication” includes a wide range of activities that connect science and society. The common goals of science communication include informing non-specialists about scientific findings, increasing public awareness and interest in science, influencing people’s attitudes and behaviors, informing public policies, and interacting with different communities to address social problems.
Different groups such as scientific experts, science journalists, artists, doctors, etc. can play a role in promoting science.
On the initiative of UNESCO and the International Council of Science, November 10 (corresponding to November 20) has been named the International Day of Science in the Service of Peace and Development.
