Philadelphia Commissioner: Counting votes in the 2024 election cycle is much faster than previous elections
Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein told CNN that he believes the 2024 election cycle will be counted much faster than in 2020.
According to Isna, Bluestein said: “We started checking our postal ballots from the moment the polling stations opened at 7:00 a.m. today, and we will count the votes much faster than in 2020.”
Bluestein said the process is likely to be faster because many people have returned to voting in person at the polls.
He went on to add that the city has purchased additional equipment to open the envelopes, noting that they have “more people than before.”
Bluestein went on to explain that the bulk counting of postal votes will not take more than four days.
He also expressed his full confidence in the security of the election and its results.
