The Eternity in Now exhibition presents contemporary art against the majestic backdrop of the Egyptian pyramids to invite visitors to travel through time, somewhere between the past and the present.
“Forever Is Now” is a contemporary art exhibition that brings together artists from the region and around the world to depict the wonders of an ancient civilization through the lens of their works. This annual exhibition is held at the 4,500-year-old UNESCO World Heritage site, Egypt’s Giza Pyramids and its surrounding plateau.
The Eternity Now exhibition depicts a reflection of ancient rituals, vibrant civilizations and buried stories that have yet to be discovered; In fact, this event showcases the connection between past and present by exploring the hidden narratives of history and culture and reminds us of the continuous and dynamic importance of storytelling.
In this exhibition, deep human concepts such as the search for understanding and meaning are discussed, and the artists invite the audience to re-view the world from different angles by using unconventional materials. In an attractive way, the works of this exhibition question the spatial relationships and our perceptions of history and nature and present a modern interpretation of ancient concepts such as hope, faith and transcendence. Artists, in the form of modern archaeologists, use creativity to discover hidden meanings and concepts in social structures.
In the 2024 exhibition, in addition to providing an artistic space for visitors, the possibility of cultural interactions and exchange of ideas with local communities has also been created, and with the cooperation of artisans, students and workers, access to contemporary art is possible for the general public. In this multicultural environment, visitors and artists learn together how ancient history and legends can inspire future generations.
This event also examines the cultural heritage of ancient Egypt from a new angle and tries to provide a new understanding of history and the importance of narration by relying on the deep beliefs and knowledge of that time to help the formation of a contemporary artistic heritage in a place of global value.
