NATO commander: The Russian army will be stronger than ever regardless of the end of the war in Ukraine
Russia’s military will be stronger than ever, no matter how the war in Ukraine ends, and NATO forces must quickly prepare to deal with the threat posed by it, the NATO commander warned.
According to Isna, Christopher Cavalli, the commander of NATO forces in Europe, said on Sunday that, in his opinion, the Russian army will be stronger than it is now regardless of how the war in Ukraine ends.
The Ukrainian newspaper Pravda wrote that Cavoli warned in an interview with the Spiegel magazine that the Russian army will become a deadly enemy for NATO, despite the huge losses and casualties of the war in Ukraine.
The top NATO commander said that the military alliance should not have any illusions about the power of the Russian military.
According to him, “the Russian armed forces are learning and improving and applying the experience gained in the war.”
He asked NATO to quickly prepare for this threat, because Russia will be “an enemy with serious military capacity and clear objectives”.
Cavoli added: This is why we must be ready and we need armed forces that can stand up to it.
The commander of NATO in Europe said that the new defense plans of this military alliance and, as a result, the increase in the tasks of individual NATO members should be implemented quickly.
“When I say fast, I mean we have to act faster,” he said.
Earlier, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that Russia may have the military capability to attack NATO by 2026 or 2027.
The war in Ukraine continues as diplomatic initiatives for peace remain fruitless.
NATO countries continue to provide military support to Kiev.
In the past few months, French President Emmanuel Macron proposed the participation of European military forces in the Ukraine war, which NATO countries opposed due to the fear of direct conflict between this military alliance and Russia.
