Mahan’s flight landed on the wrong runway of the Chechen airport.
The spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Organization declared the flight in low visibility conditions in Grozny to be the cause of the pilot’s mistake and said:
The Aviation Safety Commission of the two countries are interacting to return the plane to Tehran.
“Jafar Yazerlo” expressed:
On Monday morning, Mahan Airlines flight with 58 passengers took off from Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport to Grozny city in Chechnya. The available evidence shows that the flight was faced with reduced visibility in the area and this caused the plane to land on the wrong runway of the destination airport. As a result of this incident, there was no damage to the plane and passengers, and all passengers left the plane safely.
According to him, the aviation safety commissions of the two countries are currently investigating the issue and interaction for the return of the plane to Tehran. Yazerlu expressed his hope that such errors will be prevented from repeating after the necessary investigations and by notifying Mahan Airlines of corrective measures.
