A new section of the Grand Egyptian Museum was opened.
The eagerly awaited museum that houses the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts has opened its doors to some of its galleries.
According to a BBC report, this huge museum, which took more than 20 years and is located near the pyramids of Giza, will display more than 100,000 objects, including treasures from the tomb of King Tutankhamun.

The priceless collection of this boy king has not yet been exhibited; But visitors can now see items ranging from statues of pharaohs to coffins and mummified bodies. This museum was supposed to be opened in 2012; But costs, political developments and the Covid-19 pandemic caused delays. So far, this massive project has cost over a billion dollars.

The opening of this part is experimental and follows the opening of the main hall and staircase last year. The official opening date has not yet been announced.
