America is sending several thousand new troops to West Asia
The Pentagon announced on Monday that Washington will send “several thousand” additional troops and equipment to West Asia in order to increase the security and defense of the Zionist regime if necessary.
According to Isna, “Sabrina Singh”, the spokesperson of the Pentagon, told reporters that this action was carried out following the recent attacks in Lebanon and the assassination of Seyed Hassan Nasrallah.
He said: “Strengthening our forces is aimed at deterring aggressive actions and reducing the risks of a wider regional war.”
The deployment of new US forces to the region includes F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16, A-10 and F-22 fighter jets and the necessary personnel to support them.
Singh stated that the jets are not there to help evacuate the area, but “to protect American forces”.
This senior official of the US Department of Defense also said regarding the escalation of tensions between the Zionist regime and Lebanon: “Israel’s ground attack in Lebanon has not yet been carried out and we are still discussing with them about the best solutions ahead.”
He continued: “We are working with them to understand their next steps in Lebanon.”
“Austin was surprised when Gallant informed him of the operation against Nasrallah,” Singh added. “He wants to know about any Israeli operations in the Middle East, because these operations affect American forces.”
The spokesperson of the Pentagon further claimed that the US was not involved in the attacks of the Zionist regime against Yemen and that it was informed about it only before the operation.
Singh further claimed: “We take Iran’s threats seriously and this has made us strengthen our forces to protect ourselves and Israel. The attempt of Iran or proxy groups to take more tension-inducing steps cannot be ignored.”
