Lavrov: The Middle East is on the verge of a big war
After the attack of the Zionist regime on Beirut, the Russian Foreign Minister warned that the West Asian region is on the verge of a big war.
According to RCO News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said early Saturday that his country “wants to stop the cycle of violence between Israel and Lebanon.”
Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting, Lavrov said, referring to the Zionist regime’s attacks on Lebanon, that Russia condemns Israel’s actions in violating Lebanon’s sovereignty.
The senior Russian diplomat also warned that “the Middle East is on the verge of a big war, which some parties are strongly interested in” with an implicit reference to the tensions created by the US and the Zionist regime.
He also said that “the war path that Israel has chosen will not cause Israelis to return to the north.”
Addressing the US representative, Lavrov said: “Without your support for Israel, it is possible to stop the war in Gaza.”
America has so far vetoed several United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding the end of the war in Gaza.
