In this ceremony, Dr. Kazemi’s award Kazemi prize It will be joily awarded to two outstanding researchers from Germany and Austria. “Thomas Braun”, a promine scieist in the field of stem cells and one of the main researchers of the Max Planck Heart and Lung Research Institute in Germany, who studies the molecular mechanisms of the developme of heart and skeletal muscles of stem cells and regeneration of coractile tissues, as well as aging and adaptation of the cardiovascular system studies
Nicolas Riveron is also an outstanding young scieist at the Embryo Research Laboratory at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology, Austrian Academy of Sciences. His research group created a unique model of “blastocyst” called “blastoid” using stem cells in a laboratory environme. Blastocyst is an embryonic stage that can impla in the uterus and make embryonic organs and extraembryonic tissues. As a model of embryo, blastoids are suitable tools for systematic analysis of the effect of cell number, states and communication mechanisms on embryo formation.
Also, the opening ceremony of the 25th Iernational Congress of Reproductive Medicine and the 20th Iernational Congress of Stem Cells and Embryo Regenerative Medicine will be held on the same day at 8 am.
