Based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Henley Passport Index has just released its 2024 edition. In this index, the Canadian passport has been ranked 7th and has moved up one place compared to last year, which was ranked 8th. Meanwhile, the United States, which was in seventh place last year, now ranks eighth.
This is the first time that Passport Canada has been ranked higher in the Henley Index in many years. The two countries’ passports ranked sixth in 2019, but before and after Canada was ranked lower than the United States. In 2014, the United States was ranked first, along with the United Kingdom.
