NASA announced that the Endurance probe has recently reached a new record by using an automatic navigation tool to travel a distance of 759 meters on the planet Mars without human intervention.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, NASA’s Endurance probe is now exploring Mars and conducting various experiments on this planet. Recently, the control team of this probe announced that by using the automatic routing system, Tastagh has been able to demonstrate its capabilities in this field without human intervention.
The probe arrived at an area called Snowdrift Peak in late June. Then, using the automatic routing system, he managed to travel a long way. According to NASA’s report, this probe traveled about 759 meters during the month of June.
According to the American Space Agency, this probe would have moved only 520 meters if it traveled in a straight path. However, due to the presence of a rocky path, this probe was not allowed to move, and as a result, the use of an automatic routing tool made it possible to successfully find its way in this area. In this probe, there are powerful cameras and a dedicated computer that can prepare the required data for automatic routing by processing the image and provide it accurately to this system. Before this, the endurance explorer was able to use this tool to travel a distance of 699 meters in the crater of Jezoro.
