According to Ilana; Morteza Adibzadeh, the deputy of cultural heritage of Tehran province announced:
At prese, the experts of the General Departme of Cultural Heritage of Tehran Province have been se to Lalezar and we had correspondence with Tehran Municipality in this regard.
He said:
Colleagues are doing expert investigations to check the exte of damage to this historical and nationally registered work of Tehran. Meanwhile, in the coming days, we will have meetings with Tehran Municipality in order to protect the historical buildings like the Grand Hotel as much as possible, so that it will finally be determined what decision the owner will make for this importa and valuable historical work.
The deputy of cultural heritage of Tehran province considered further explanations regarding the cause of the fire to be subject to fire investigations and coinued:
Grand Hotel has been registered in the list of national monumes of the coury and this building and Lalezar axis are very importa for cultural heritage and municipality. The municipality has taken significa measures by acquiring a number of historical plaques, including the historical monume of Pirnia or the Nasr Theater, therefore it is very valuable for the municipality and cultural heritage to protect these buildings.
He said:
We are also trying to maiain the valuable axis of Lalezaar with the ieraction we have with the municipality and the owners of Lalezaar. Unfortunately, in the past decades, disproportionate uses have been given to the original Lalezar buildings and this trend has become widespread. I hope that we can strengthen our protection approach in this area by changing the uses and supporting laws that have been seen again in the seveh developme plan with the cooperation of the municipality.
He emphasized:
However, the reality that exists now is the disproportionate use and leaving the buildings as they are, iensifying their erosion and vulnerability. The cultural heritage departme of Tehran province has had many correspondences with the municipality and the owners in this regard, but we are still witnessing that these buildings are turned io warehouses with disproportionate use and dangerous goods are stored in them.
Adibzadeh announced:
Preveing such incides requires the coinuous cooperation of the municipality, fire brigade, cultural heritage and the owners of Lalezar historical buildings, which we hope to achieve positive results with the meetings we will hold in the coming days.
