Medvedev: Cuba is still an importa strategic ally of Russia in the region – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Ryanovsti news agency, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy of the Russian Security Council, announced his meeting with Cuban Foreign Minister Rodríguez Parrilla on Wednesday.
In this regard, the deputy of the Russian Security Council said: Cuba is still an importa strategic ally for Russia among the couries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Dimitri Medvedev discussed the developme and deepening of relations between the two couries with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.
This is while the Russian Foreign Minister had previously said in a meeting with his Cuban couerpart in Moscow that “his coury asks the United States to behave wisely and refrain from implemeing plans related to the naval blockade of Cuba.”
“Sergei Lavrov” added during his meeting with “Bruno Rodríguez” that Russia rejects the accusations that the cooperation between Moscow and Havana is a threat to Washington or any other party. Russia will support Cuba in protecting its security. All problems should be resolved through dialogue and exchange of views.
