Russian official: membership in the European Union will cause the collapse of Ukraine – Mehr news agency RCO News Agency

According to the Mehr News Agency, quoted by Rianavosti, the speaker of the Crimean Parliame, “Vladimir Konstainov,” said: “Ukraine joining the European Union will only accelerate the process of the collapse of this union.”

The path of Ukraine’s membership in the European Union began after the protests of Westerners in 2014; When Kyiv signed the partnership agreeme with the European Union and put political and economic reforms on the agenda to approach European standards.

After the start of the Ukrainian war in 2022, the issue of Kyiv’s membership eered a new phase, and this coury received the title of “official candidate for membership” in the same year. Since then, accession negotiations have focused on judicial reforms, independence of regulatory institutions, fighting corruption, and economic alignme with the European common market.

Despite widespread political support in Europe, Ukraine’s full accession will be a long process, as the coury must impleme hundreds of European laws and standards while also dealing with the challenges of post-war reconstruction.
