According to the Mehr news agency, citing the Russian news agency Sputnik, Donald Trump wrote on his user accou on the “Truth Social” network: “On February 19, 2026, he once again addressed the members of the Peace Council at the Donald J. Trump joins for peace in Washington; Where we will announce that the member states have committed to allocate more than 5 billion dollars for humanitarian aid and reconstruction of Gaza and to send thousands of people to the iernational stability force and local police to maiain the security and peace of the resides of Gaza.
He claimed: “The Peace Council will prove that it is the most importa iernational institution in history, and I am proud to chair it.”
The first phase of the ceasefire agreeme in the Gaza Strip came io effect on October 10, 2025; The agreeme was reached after indirect negotiations between Hamas and the Israeli regime hosted by the city of Sharm el-Sheikh and with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, the United States and Turkey and based on Trump’s proposal to end the war in Gaza.
