Trump’s Struggle to Delete Racist Post
After releasing a controversial video about “Barack Obama” and “Michelle Obama”, which was met with a wave of criticism, the President of the United States published a series of old pictures and videos of his relationship with famous black figures on social networks and claimed to have served the black community.
According to RCO News Agency, US President Donald Trump, in response to widespread criticism for the release of a controversial video about former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama, published a series of posts on social networks in which pictures and videos of his relationship with famous black figures can be seen to show that he is not a racist!
Trump tried to show that he had close relationships with black figures by publishing several videos and pictures, including pictures of himself with boxer Mike Tyson and American singers Didi and Michael Jackson.
“How quickly people forget,” he wrote in one of his posts. It’s so sad!”
In one of these posts, a video from the TikTok social network was published, in which images of black American celebrities kissing black babies, hugging Oprah Winfrey, shaking hands with Will Smith and standing next to Snoop Dogg were seen.
In another post, an old video of Trump appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s former TV show, discussing foreign policy, was released. Also, in another post, a video was published in which it was claimed that Trump supported Michael Jackson after he made accusations against him.
Trump’s post insulting Obama and his wife
These media moves came after last week Trump released a video in which the faces of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama were placed on the bodies of monkeys. This video was met with widespread reactions.
Tim Scott, Trump’s ally and the only black member of the US Senate, described this action as “the most racist thing” he has seen from the White House.
White House spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt initially tried to defend the move, saying the video was merely “an Internet meme” that portrayed Trump as “king of the jungle” and Democrats as “Lion King” characters. However, the post was removed a few hours later, with the White House saying a staffer had posted it “by mistake”.
Comparing blacks to monkeys or baboons has a long history in the literature of white supremacists and extremist groups, and this issue caused widespread anger among politicians of both parties in the United States.
Trump has been criticized many times during his political activity; Among other things, for criticizing black athletes who knelt during the national anthem in protest of systemic racism, as well as promoting theories about Barack Obama’s birthplace. Last year, he also published manipulated pictures and videos of Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader of the House of Representatives, which Jeffries described as racist.
