Canada: Israel’s actions in the West Bank are a violation of international law – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Al Jazeera, Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement condemning Israel’s decision to expand the West Bank.
It is stated in this statement: Israel’s recent actions in the West Bank are extremely worrying and will have a negative impact on the peace process between the Palestinians and Israel.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada added: “Israel’s actions do not comply with international law and can jeopardize the prospect of an independent Palestinian state. We ask all parties to exercise restraint and refrain from actions that threaten the peace and security of the region.”
It should be noted that the security cabinet of the Zionist regime on Monday approved a series of new decisions related to the West Bank, which include the cancellation of a Jordanian law and the expansion of settlements.
According to published reports, the Israeli cabinet has canceled the Jordanian law that prohibited the sale of land to Jews in the West Bank. This law was related to the period of Jordan’s sovereignty over the West Bank before the occupation of this region in 1967.
The security cabinet of the Zionist regime also agreed with decisions for the development of settlements in the West Bank.
