According to the Mehr news agency, quoted by Russia Today, “Arshad al-Hakim”, the official spokesman of the Iraqi security apparatus, announced in a statement that the country’s security forces were able to discover and dismantle a dangerous terrorist cell in Anbar.

He added: “Abu Ayman al-Rawi”, who introduced himself as the “Governor of Anbar”, was arrested while preparing for a suicide operation.

Al-Hakim clarified that the security investigation led to the arrest of several other terrorists who were in charge of key responsibilities such as transportation, logistics support, making bomb drones and managing chemical weapons in the ISIS terrorist group.

The spokesperson of the Iraqi security apparatus continued: “The security threat in Anbar was completely eliminated by the siege of the main headquarters of the group and two of their companions who blew themselves up during the siege.”

In the end, al-Hakam emphasized: “Strict and confidential intelligence operations made any terrorist plan to be neutralized before it was implemented.”

Earlier, a security source in the command of Hashd Shaabi forces of Anbar province announced that at least four underground tunnels of the Daesh series were destroyed in the western areas of this province.

He added: Hashd al-Shaabi forces managed to carry out a strike operation against the areas located between the deserts of Haditha and Nineveh in the west of Anbar province.

This source stated: The said operation took place after receiving important information about the existence of ISIS secret tunnels.

He emphasized: These tunnels were recently dug by the remnants of ISIS terrorist organizations in desert areas and they were used to hide and store weapons.
