According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Waa, Iraqi National Security Adviser Qasim al-Aarji welcomed Spain’s ambassador to Baghdad, Elisa Reko-Britt.
In this meeting, Al-Araji emphasized that Iraq continues to cooperate with its partners and friends to restore peace and stability to the region through the political approach of balanced relations with different parties.
He stated: The battle with the ISIS organization continues and the unity of the international community against terrorist groups is an urgent necessity. Iraq was able to return all its nationals from the al-Hol camp, and only a few of them remain.
Al-Aarji also pointed to the achievements of effective efforts in the rehabilitation and integration of families who returned to the country in the Iraqi society and said that this achievement was achieved as a result of close cooperation with the United Nations and international humanitarian organizations.
Iraq’s national security adviser stated: Iraq is trying to create a safe environment for development and investment, which requires dealing with regional challenges and consolidates the foundations of stability and peace.
On the other hand, this Spanish official emphasized his country’s desire to develop bilateral relations with Iraq and pointed out that cooperation with the Iraqi side has helped to transfer Spanish nationals from Al-Hol camp.
He praised Iraq’s central role in strengthening stability and restoring peace by saying that dialogue and diplomacy are the best way to restore peace to the region.
