The resignation of Norway’s ambassador to Iraq and Jordan due to his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al-Mayadin, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway announced on Sunday that Mona Yul will resign from her position due to a “serious error in estimation” and following her contacts with Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of committing sex crimes.
Earlier this week, the ministry decided to temporarily suspend Yule from his duties as Norway’s ambassador to Jordan and Iraq pending the conclusion of an internal investigation into Yule’s ties to Epstein.
These communications were revealed after the release of a vast collection of files released by the US government.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espenbart Ide said in a statement: “Mona Yule’s association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is a gross miscalculation.”
He added: “This case makes it very difficult to restore the level of trust that this diplomatic position requires.
66-year-old Mona Yul has previously held several diplomatic responsibilities, including the Norwegian ambassador to Israel and the United Kingdom, Norway’s representative to the United Nations, and a ministerial position in the Norwegian government.
This case was raised following the recent release of thousands of pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein; Documents that include the names of political figures, officials and businessmen from different countries of the world and are known as one of the biggest scandals that have shaken international political and financial circles.
