Erdogan: We are clearly against any military intervention against Iran – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with the Saudi newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat: Ankara is ready to mediate between Iran and the United States so that issues can be resolved diplomatically and tensions can be reduced.
He added: We have always openly expressed our opposition to any military intervention in Iran in all forums.
The President of Türkiye called on all parties to refrain from any action that may aggravate the crisis.
Erdoğan called for the creation of regional security mechanisms to prevent crises before they occur and said: What our region needs is not new divisions, but a basis for cooperation formed with collective wisdom and shared responsibility.
He added: Our goal is not to manage the conflict, but to jointly strengthen the diplomatic infrastructure to prevent it from occurring.
Iran and the US are expected to start a new round of negotiations on Friday. Tehran has announced that it is ready to negotiate, but it will not compromise the rights of the Iranian people.
