Venezuela appointed its diplomatic representative in the United States – Mehr News Agency RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al-Mayadin network, the interim president of Venezuela, Delsey Rodríguez, appointed Felix Plasencia as the country’s diplomatic representative in the United States.
On this basis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Ivan Khel Pinto, announced that the meeting of the government of this country with the US envoy was dedicated to the review of the “common agenda”, which included issues such as energy, trade and political affairs.
The appointment of the Venezuelan representative in the United States takes place a few days after the new head of the American delegation arrived in Venezuela.
Laura Dugo, the new head of the US mission in Caracas, arrived in Venezuela on Saturday.
On January 22 (2nd of February), Washington appointed Dugo, who was previously the US ambassador to Nicaragua, as the chargé d’affaires of Venezuela to take charge of the US diplomatic mission in Venezuela in the absence of the ambassador.
Diplomatic relations between the United States and Venezuela were cut off in 2019 during the first term of Donald Trump’s presidency.
