The beginning of the registration of performing arts scholarship for BRICS Plus couries – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency

According to RCO News Agency, citing BRICS TV, in 2026, young drama theater actors from BRICS Plus couries will come to Moscow once again to participate in the “Ierrusha” scholarship program in the field of performing arts. The program is organized by the Russian Institute of Dramatic Arts (GITIS) in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, the iernational media network TV BRICS and the non-profit organization “Mzhdunarodniki”. This scholarship is part of the flagship project of the Russian Federation Agency called “New Generation”, which is implemeed with the support of the Presideial Assistance Foundation.
This program is designed for final year studes of theater and cinema schools and educational ceers related to performing arts, as well as for young professional actors. The classes will be held in Moscow from August 24 to October 3, and the application deadline is May 31, 2026.
The Ierrusha program gives the participas the opportunity to get acquaied with Russian theater art methods, take part in specialized expression and acting classes, meet with promine cultural figures, watch performances of promine theaters in Moscow, and exchange experiences with their couerparts from differe couries. In the final session, studes will prese moveme exercises and parts of plays.
Grigory Zaslavsky, head of the Russian Institute of Performing Arts “GITIS”, said: “We are glad that the scholarship of young artists of the BRICS couries is once again held in our collection. For Gatiss, this program is not just a training course, but a real opportunity to iroduce the Russian acting school to iernational colleagues; How we work with actor psychology today, what new approaches we have in teaching moveme and expression, and how Stanislavsky’s legacy has developed. This project has always been a conversation; From these meetings, we gain a new perspective, differe energy and diverse theatrical experiences. We invite studes and young actors who don’t just look at Russian theater as spectators, but wa to participate in it. Together we explore, experience and find common ground – both literally and metaphorically. We look forward to receiving your requests! Let’s build the theater of the 21st ceury together.”
Alexandra Borman, director of the iernational cooperation departme of BRICS TV, also said that the network implemes and supports several humanitarian projects to strengthen iergovernmeal cooperation. In the framework of Ierrosha programs, this network is traditionally one of the organizers and the main information partner of two programs: one related to the performing arts and the other for energy professionals. The media campaigns of this network cause wide coverage of project eves, strengthening of specialized communities, expansion of professional communication and exchange of experience, which ultimately helps to improve the quality of life in BRICS couries and strengthens the iernational position of this organization.
The cycle of Ierrusha scholarships was launched in 2021 by the Gorchakov Fund. The mission of this project is to strengthen and deepen scieific, public and cultural communication and to create a basis for constructive dialogue between young specialists from Russia and other couries.
Sergei Orlov, deputy executive director of the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, said:
“In 2026, the Ierrusha program will celebrate its fifth anniversary; An importa milestone that shows the sustainability and growing iernational credibility of this project. During these years, more than 500 people from 70 couries have participated in this scholarship and had the opportunity to get to know a wide range of specialized fields. The performing arts scholarship has a special place among these programs and is considered the most creative program of Ierrosha; A place that brings together the most ambitious young actors from the BRICS Plus couries.
The Ierrusha Performing Arts Scholarship Program was developed during the year of Russia’s presidency over BRICS.
In 2024, there were participas from Argeina, Brazil, India, Iran, China and South Africa. After the end of the course, BRICS TV produced the documeary “Worthy of Admiration: New Roles for BRICS Plus Actors”, which was shown in several foreign couries.
In 2025, young actors from Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Argeina, Tunisia, Mauritania and Cuba participated in this program.
