Suspension of the activities of the Afghan embassy in Australia – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency

According to Mehr news agency, citing Pajhwok news agency, the Australian governme and the Afghan embassy in Canberra announced in a joi stateme that after consultation with the Australian governme and within the framework of restrictions beyond the embassy’s corol, it is hereby notified that the embassy’s activities will be suspended after June 30, 2026.
The Embassy of Afghanistan in Australia has stated in this stateme that although this was not our desired result, an understanding has been reached regarding an honorable process for the transfer of affairs.
In this joi stateme, the Australian governme emphasized that as the host coury, it will coinue to protect the embassy building and its assets and archives in accordance with iernational law, including the Vienna Conveion on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
The staff and the curre ambassador of Afghanistan in Canberra were appoied by the governme of former Preside Ashraf Ghani. Australia has announced that this coury does not iend to accept new represeatives from the caretaker governme of Afghanistan (Taliban).
