The release of new documents from the Epstein case; New trouble for Trump’s allies – Mehr News agency RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, citing CNN, the US Department of Justice announced on Friday the release of a very large collection of Jeffrey Epstein’s files, including more than three million pages; According to this ministry, this action was taken in line with the obligations arising from the transparency law approved by the Congress last year.
The sheer volume of documents related to this sex offender means that it will take a long time to fully review them.
The name of Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America, is seen many times in the new document collection; Documents that range from research reports to emails and news clippings.
First, there is a chain of emails from August 2025 in which a person purporting to be an FBI employee provides a list of apparently unverified reports about Trump and Epstein, many of which are controversial and scandalous in nature.
So far, Trump has never been accused by law enforcement agencies of committing any wrongdoing related to Epstein and has denied any involvement in such actions.
It’s not clear why authorities compiled a list of allegations linked to Trump last year. But the political sensitivities surrounding Trump’s closeness to Epstein, who was with him for years and is said to have broken up in the mid-2000s, were revealed last year; When Trump at one point mistakenly said his name was not mentioned in the files.
One of the main reasons for the long wait for the files to be released was the hope of identifying others who may have been involved in Epstein’s crimes. Only Gillian Maxwell (Epstein’s partner) was charged, but many Americans believe others were involved.
A draft indictment from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida in the 2000s charged Epstein, along with three others (whose names have been redacted); People who have been described mainly as facilitators of dating between Epstein and the teenage girls.
The document states that they all conspired to “encourage, encourage and deceive persons under the age of 18 to enter prostitution.”
CNN wrote: The release of the new documents may be problematic for some figures, including prominent Trump allies who have tried to distance themselves from Epstein.
The documents show that Trump administration Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick was planning a trip to Epstein Island in 2012, years after he said he had cut ties with Epstein.
Lutnick said on a podcast last year that he and his wife decided around 2005 to no longer have anything to do with Epstein. But the 2012 email shows her asking where Epstein was so they could meet for a meal.
Another email shows Lutnick inviting Epstein (via an assistant) to a fundraiser for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2015. It is not clear whether Epstein was present at the ceremony or not.
The documents also show that Elon Musk, the tech billionaire, tried to make trips to Epstein’s island in 2012 and 2013, despite having previously said that he had declined Epstein’s invitations.
On November 24, 2012, Epstein emails Musk and asks, “How many people will you have for the helicopter flight to the island?” Probably just him and his then-wife, Musk replies.
The documents still contain significant references to Bill Clinton; Including Epstein’s testimony in 2016, where he repeatedly invokes the Fifth Amendment (right to refuse to answer) when asked about Clinton.
Clinton’s spokesperson has repeatedly said that she cut ties with Epstein before he was accused in 2006 and had no knowledge of his crimes, and also denied traveling to Epstein’s island.
The documents also reveal an extensive relationship between Epstein and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, which could increase pressure to explain the relationship.
