According to the Mehr news agency, citing the Iraqi Waa news agency, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced this Friday that 7 layers of security barriers have been established on the borders of Iraq and Syria, which also include fixed-wing drones.
He emphasized: There are no gaps or dangerous areas in the borders.
Brigadier General Abbas Al-Bahadli, the spokesman of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, said: The border guard command is highly prepared on the Syrian border.
He announced: 3 years ago and before the current developments, the Iraqi Ministry of Interior formulated a preventive plan to ensure border security, which includes digging trenches, creating embankments, quadruple barriers, barbed wire, concrete towers and cement walls, as well as the use of fixed-wing thermal and laser drones.
Al-Bahadli clarified: The security establishment at the borders is based on three axes: first, under the command of the border forces, second, the Iraqi army, and third, the Hashd al-Shaabi forces. Security measures to prevent any security breach are focused on 3 main axes: first, human resources with 3 lines of defense, second, engineering efforts including fencing, barriers and ditches, and third, the use of advanced technologies, including motion sensors, surveillance cameras, and laser observation, which are active day and night and transmit images to the national command center and control and operation centers of the border forces. Fixed-wing electronic drones also monitor every movement.
