Tajikistan: We oppose military action against Iran
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, in response to the escalation of military tensions between Iran and the United States, opposed any military action against Iran and called for a diplomatic solution to the differences.
According to RCO News Agency, in a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed its serious concern about the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, especially in relation to Iran, and opposed any military action against it.
In this statement, which was published following the warmongering rhetoric of American officials against Iran and the sending of this country’s flotilla to West Asia, it was stated: Tajikistan supports the peaceful settlement of all disputes exclusively through diplomatic means.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan asked all parties to adhere to the principles of the United Nations Charter and norms of international law and to use all their efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.
American authorities have threatened to take military action against Iran after the recent economic protests in Iran, which the government announced that it recognizes, but according to Tehran, they were destroyed and rioted by terrorist elements affiliated with the United States and the Zionist regime. Iranian authorities have announced that there is documentation of terrorist elements’ connection with the United States and the Zionist regime.
The sending of American weapons to the West Asian region and near Iran has increased the tensions between the two countries even more. “Donald Trump,” the president of the United States, had previously made warlike statements against Iran, saying that “we are monitoring Iran” and “we hope that Iran will agree.”
Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Ismail Baqaei, in response to this escalation of tensions in his recent press conference, emphasized that “we have never welcomed war and have never turned away from diplomacy” and said: “Iran is confident in its capabilities and we have past experiences, including the experience of the 12-day war, in mind, and we will give a more comprehensive and regretful response to any aggression against Iran than ever.”
