Issuing weather warnings for 12 southern provinces

Quoting from East; Hossein Zafari, the spokesman of the country’s crisis management organization, referring to the issuance of the meteorological orange level warning from the beginning of the week until today, said in 12 southern provinces of the country:

Based on this, the country’s crisis management organization has issued the necessary notifications to the affected provinces and emphasized on the maintenance and continuity of the readiness of the relief agencies.

He continued:

In the affected provinces, crisis management headquarters were formed, inter-agency coordination and division of work took place. Also, the decisions made were informed to the dear people of these affected provinces.

Referring to the continuous rains in recent weeks in different parts of the country, Zafari said:

All emergency services, including the traffic police, the Red Crescent, the traffic police and the emergency department, were on full alert and it was emphasized that these preparations should continue.

According to the spokesman of the country’s crisis management organization, following the rains of the previous day, flooding has occurred in some places in the south of Khuzestan province, including the cities of Ahvaz, Abadan and Mahshahr, as well as in the eastern regions of Hormozgan province. A city like Ahvaz usually gets flooded with 10 mm of rain, but yesterday this city experienced about 48 mm of rain, and with the presence of the governor of Khuzestan and the mayor of Ahvaz, necessary measures were taken to drain the city. According to reports this morning, operations are being carried out only in limited parts of this city, and the flooding of these parts will also be removed.

He added:

Today, Monday, there is a forecast of flooding in the southern half of Sistan and Baluchistan province, and the necessary preparations have been taken in advance. Also, in some areas of the country, including Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, the heights of Kerman and South Khorasan provinces, snow cover was reported, which blocked about 89 villages, and with the efforts of the road forces, these roads were reopened today. More than 4,200 kilometers of rural and mountain roads were cleared of snow, sprinkled with salt and sand, and currently only some roads in the south of Sistan and Baluchistan province are flooded.

The spokesman of the country’s crisis management organization advised the citizens to check the condition of the roads through official traffic systems before traveling and travel with complete confidence.

He stated:

Also, people should avoid climbing to heights now. Despite the emphasis, yesterday we received reports of an accident in the heights for our compatriots. On the other hand, compatriots should avoid crossing roads with water flow, even with shallow depth, because some people have had accidents by crossing shallow floods.
