According to the Mehr news agency, citing the National Science Foundation of Iran (INSF), the 281st meeting of the Scieific Council of the National Science Foundation of Iran was held, and in this meeting, decisions were made about how to pay doctoral theses.
Therefore, it is informed that since 28th of January 1404, due to the adequacy of the supervision of the university and the presence of the supervisor in the process of the doctoral dissertation, the supervisor was removed from the supervision process in the foundation.
It was also approved that from now on doctoral dissertations will be paid in eight phases as follows:
First stage: payme of the first quarter (12%) after signing the memorandum;
Second stage: payme of the second quarter (25%) after three mohs of the agreeme period and receiving the work progress of the first three mohs and the supervisor’s approval;
The third stage: payme of the third quarter (37%) after 6 mohs of the agreeme period, receiving the work progress of the second quarter and the supervisor’s approval;
Fourth stage: payme of the fourth quarter (50%) after nine mohs of the agreeme period, receiving the work progress of the third quarter and the supervisor’s approval;
The fifth stage: payme of the fifth quarter (62%) after twelve mohs have passed from the term of the memorandum, receiving the work progress of the fourth quarter and the supervisor’s approval;
The sixth stage: payme of the sixth quarter (75%) after fifteen mohs of the agreeme period, receiving the work progress of the fifth quarter and the supervisor’s approval;
Seveh stage: payme of the seveh quarter (87%) after eighteen mohs of the agreeme period, receiving the work progress of the sixth quarter and the supervisor’s approval;
Eighth stage: After defending the thesis and preseing the doctoral thesis, the commitmes and the minutes of the defense meeting and the supervisor’s approval (100%).
Also, payme to the supervisor for project costs is made by the foundation in two stages. In the first stage, the amou of 50% is provided to the doctoral stude along with the payme of the second stage of payme.
In the second stage of payme to the supervisor, the amou of 50% is paid together with the payme of the fifth stage of payme to the PhD stude.
In the coinuation of this meeting, paragraph 3 of article 4 of the guidelines for supporting theses and treatises was also amended.
Based on this, in the case of doctoral studes who have not passed more than one academic year from the date of defense of the subject of the doctoral dissertation to the date of registration in the system. The term “educational” has been added to this seence so that if he takes an academic leave after defending the subject, it will be coued in one year.
In addition, it was decided that the approvals related to the doctoral thesis will be implemeed on the plans submitted before the approval that did not lead to the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding.
It should be noted that the approvals of the 281st meeting of the Scieific Council of the National Science Foundation of Iran are valid from 28 January 1404.
