Venezuela’s Foreign Minister: Thank you for Russia’s request to release Maduro
Venezuela’s foreign minister said that the country is grateful for Russia’s position on the release of Nicolás Maduro, who was kidnapped by the United States.
According to RCO News Agency, “Ivan Gil”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, wrote on Telegram on Tuesday evening: “The Venezuelan government expresses its deep appreciation for Russia’s statements in support of the request of an independent nation for the release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Celia Flores.”
“We appreciate the support of our constitutional order, which is guaranteed in accordance with our laws under the leadership of Venezuela’s Interim President Delsy Rodríguez,” the Venezuelan Foreign Minister added, according to the Riannews News agency.
He also thanked Russia for demanding respect for the Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination and condemning foreign interference “motivated by neo-colonial ideas.”
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement: “We reaffirm Russia’s unwavering solidarity with the people and government of Venezuela and wish President Rodríguez success in addressing the challenges facing the Bolivarian Republic.”
