According to Mehr news agency, quoted from website “network Quds Al-IkhbariyaSecret documents attributed to the UAE Intelligence Agency revealed a level of intelligence cooperation between the UAE government and Israel’s spy service (Mossad), which included spying missions inside the Gaza Strip and Qatar and carrying out direct orders from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to these documents, which were published by Arab news sources, Netanyahu’s orders to the UAE were “humiliating” and lacked the “spirit of cooperation between equal partners”. These orders included an increase in the level of UAE intelligence operations in Gaza and Qatar, along with advanced equipment and tools provided by Israel and a one-month deadline to provide results.
These documents state that Israel has demanded a fivefold increase in the number of officers and teams active in Qatar, because Tel Aviv has considered the country sensitive to its support for Hamas. Also, the language of Israel’s orders has been described as offensive and insulting by some intelligence officials of the UAE and has drawn criticism.
According to these documents, UAE intelligence officials have expressed concern and surprise over the tone of Israel’s letters, which do not express equal cooperation relations.
Leaked documents and news show that security and intelligence cooperation between Tel Aviv and the capitals of some Arab countries, especially Abu Dhabi, has intensified in recent years.
The history of the UAE’s relations with the Zionist regime goes back to decades of secret talks and security and intelligence agreements.
With the signing of agreements to normalize relations between the UAE and Israel in 2020, the level of cooperation entered a more formal and extensive stage, and since then, numerous reports and documents indicate joint cooperation in the field of fighting regional armed groups and the exchange of security information, of which these recent documents have revealed new dimensions.
