Araghchi praises the Cuban government and people for standing up against foreign threats
Iran’s foreign minister praised the people and government of Cuba for standing up against foreign threats and illegal economic pressures.
According to RCO News Agency, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Bruno Rodriguez, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments in a phone call.
In this phone call, they consulted and exchanged opinions about the existing capacities to expand the relations between the two countries in the fields of interest of the parties, as well as strengthening coordination at the level of international organizations.
Condemning the US military aggression against Venezuela, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country considered this action to be a clear violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental rules of international law, and emphasized the responsibility of all governments and the United Nations to categorically and explicitly oppose this dangerous violation of the law.
Araghchi also praised the Cuban government and people for standing up against foreign threats and illegal economic pressures.
In this telephone conversation, while condemning the illegal and insecure actions of the United States in the Caribbean and Latin America, especially the recent illegal invasion of Venezuela and the abduction of the president and his wife, the Cuban foreign minister also emphasized Cuba’s stand against any foreign threat and reminded the necessity of cooperation and coordination between friendly countries to deal with militant unilateralism.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Cuba also emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, especially within the framework of the United Nations Charter Defense Group and the Non-Aligned Movement.
