According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Anatoly, the Union of Palestinian Journalists announced that the Zionist occupying army has arrested at least 42 Palestinian journalists, including 8 female journalists, in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the territories occupied in 1948 during 2025.
According to this trade union, the occupying authorities have coinued the policy of organized targeting against journalists and reporters; A policy that includes arbitrary and administrative arrests, beatings, deportation, confiscation of media equipme and forced ierrogations, and is pursued with the aim of silencing news coverage and weakening the national media structure.
The Freedoms Committee of the Palestinian Journalists Union announced a dangerous change in the pattern of arrests; including focusing on influeial journalists, repeatedly arresting a journalist, expanding administrative deteion without charge and using physical and psychological violence as a deterre.
In this report, there are dozens of cases where journalists were arrested while carrying out field missions and covering attacks; According to the union, this action is an attempt to empty the square of witnesses. The Freedoms Committee described administrative deteion as the most dangerous form of repression; Because it turns the journalist io a “prisoner of the vote without a time limit” and is considered a clear violation of iernational laws.
