Trump denied reports of health problems
In an interview with an American newspaper regarding his health, US President Donald Trump denied any problems in this regard.
According to Isna, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump said about his decision to perform a cardiovascular and abdominal scan in October: “I wish I hadn’t done it, because it gave them some ammunition.”
He added: “If I had not done it, it would have been much better; Because as soon as I did, he sent this message saying, “Oh, no problem?” While there is no problem.”
According to those close to Trump, the 79-year-old president is showing signs of aging both in public and in private circles. In some cases, however, he has ignored the advice of his doctors and scoffed at the widely accepted advice of the medical community, relying instead on what he calls “good genes.” Trump and his doctor say he is in excellent health, and his aides say he has a very busy work schedule.
Trump sleeps little and has recently had trouble keeping his eyes open during several televised events at the White House. Aides, donors and friends say they often have to speak loudly to the president in meetings because he struggles to hear. Apart from playing golf, Trump does not exercise regularly and is known to have a diet rich in salty and fatty foods.
Trump stated that the high dose of aspirin he takes every day has caused him to bruise easily and that his doctors have encouraged him to take a lower dose, but he has refused to change the habit, as he has been taking it for 25 years. He said in this interview: “I am a bit superstitious.”
“They say aspirin is a good blood thinner, and I don’t want thick blood going through my heart,” Trump said. I want good, thin blood running through my heart. Does that make sense?”
The US president claimed that he had no problem hearing either. He also denied sleeping through recent White House events, saying he has always coped with little sleep.
Trump has sometimes misrepresented his medical care. He had said for weeks that he had an MRI at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in October, but when The Wall Street Journal asked about it, Trump and his doctor said he had a CT scan.
A CT scan is a faster and more common way to capture detailed images of the body. MRI is a slower test that is better for examining soft tissues.
“It wasn’t an MRI,” Trump told the Wall Street Journal. It was less than that. It was a scan.”
Donald Trump’s doctor confirmed in a statement to the Wall Street Journal that Trump underwent a CT scan. He said that other doctors initially told Trump that either an MRI or a CT scan would be done, and ultimately decided to do the latter.
According to Trump’s doctor, the CT scan was performed “to definitively rule out any cardiovascular problems” and showed no abnormalities.
The American president has also tried to hide the illnesses that caused speculation about his health condition; Including the fact that the bruise on his hand is covered with makeup. During his first term as president, he downplayed the severity of his Covid-19 symptoms and did not disclose that he had undergone a colonoscopy.
The physical signs of his aging have become more apparent to some of his closest advisers. His skin is so sensitive that Pam Bundy’s ring, US Attorney General’s, hit Trump’s hand at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, causing bleeding.
Trump has repeatedly accused former US President Joe Biden, who was only five months younger than Trump when he entered the White House, of hiding the extent of his health problems. After a debate in which he slurred words and seemed to lose his train of thought, Biden decided not to run for re-election.
By avoiding unscripted interactions and relying heavily on a few trusted aides to manage his schedule, Biden fueled doubts about his physical and mental fitness.
Trump has been present almost everywhere in his second term as president; Sometimes he answers reporters’ questions several times a day, makes impromptu remarks, and regularly hosts dinners at the White House. In his long public statements, Trump jumps from topic to topic and sometimes makes mistakes.
Trump’s doctor said in a statement to the Wall Street Journal that Trump is in “exceptional health and fully fit to perform his duties as commander-in-chief.”
