European Union warning about the dangerous impact of developments in Yemen on the security of the Persian Gulf
The European Union warned that the developments in Yemen endanger the stability of the Persian Gulf.
According to Isna, the European Union announced on Wednesday that the recent developments in Yemen’s Hadramaut and Al-Mahrah provinces are facing new dangers in the Persian Gulf region.
The spokesperson of the European Union said in a statement: “The European Union wants to reduce the tension and avoid actions that further threaten the stability of Yemen and the region.”
The spokesperson added: “The European Union reiterates its strong commitment to the unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Yemen, as well as its support to the “Presidential Leadership Council” and the “Government of Yemen.”
The head of Yemen’s presidential council, which is supported by Saudi Arabia, has announced the establishment of a state of emergency in the south of the country for 90 days.
The Saudi-affiliated Yemeni Presidential Council canceled such a joint defense agreement with the UAE and imposed an air and land embargo on all Yemeni ports and crossings for 72 hours.
