Lukashenko warned Putin about the possibility of his assassination
The president of Belarus recounts how he warned Putin about the threat of an assassination plot.
According to Isna, Belta News agency has learned that “Alexander Lukashenko”, the president of Belarus, told the media how he had warned “Vladimir Putin”, his Russian counterpart, about the danger of an assassination plot, referring to the recent attack by Ukrainian drones on the residence of the Russian president in Novgorod province.
“Tonight, I remembered a conversation with Putin,” Lukashenko told the media. I think it was before the BRICS summit in South Africa. He was packing his bags when I said where are you going? And he replied, “Don’t you know? We have a BRICS summit.” I asked, are you planning to fly there?
According to the Belarusian president, it was a friendly conversation and Putin said: “Well, they invited me, I’m going to be there.” However, Lukashenko said: “Are you crazy? The war is on!”
Alexander Lukashenko, who called Putin “big brother,” shared some details. “Well, they’re not that crazy anymore, they’re not that extreme,” Putin told Lukashenko. Lukashenko also said: “Do you mean that they are all sane there? You shouldn’t go at all!”
In the end, it was Lavrov who went to the BRICS meeting, and the Belarusian president says: “Maybe not because I pressured him. But I told him my opinion.”
Lukashenko added: “But it was not just an ordinary speech. Our intelligence, and they’ve been doing a good job recently, informed us that there were some conversations, rumors from the West, that a terrorist act against the Russian president was being prepared. And I often tell him, ‘Well, there’s a war going on, you shouldn’t fly there. If somebody needs something, they’re going to fly to you.'”
“He invited us to St. Petersburg,” the Belarusian president added. His closest friends flew there. And others will follow him, including Xi Jinping, people from Iran and other countries. However, one must be cautious. Some people should not be trusted. But I told him, “You know better. You’ve worked in intelligence, that’s your area of expertise.” So it wasn’t carelessness, but a lapse in vigilance.”
Alexander Lukashenko added: “Today I thought how right I was when I warned him and cautioned him. It is clear that everyone in the West understands that if they remove Putin, everything will be different. This should be taken seriously. I say this for the first time today, because one should not be careless. “They cheated and he constantly admits it.”
