Deployment of the Russian “Orshnik” missile system in Belarus
The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced the deployment of the long-range missile system “Orshnik” on the territory of this country by publishing a video.
According to RCO News Agency, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus announced the deployment of Russia’s Orshanik missile system during an official ceremony at the country’s military bases.
The Clash Report News website reported that the system has been put on combat alert.
Earlier, Viktor Khrenin, the Minister of Defense of Belarus, stated in an interview that the delivery of Russia’s Orsnik missile systems to Minsk will not change the balance of power in Europe, because these weapons are designed for the purpose of strategic deterrence.
According to Khornain, “This is a system designed for strategic deterrence.”
The Minister of Defense of Belarus said that the deployment of Orshanik systems in Belarus was a response to the aggressive actions against Minsk, emphasizing that Belarus does not intend to go to war with any country.
However, some experts believe that the deployment of Orshnik underscores the Kremlin’s growing reliance on nuclear weapons power, as the Kremlin seeks to prevent NATO members from supplying weapons that would allow them to strike deep into Russia.
